  • How do you get to Trout Stalker Ranch?​​​​

    • From Taos: Drive east on US 64 to Tierra Amarilla. At the intersection of 64 and 84, turn right and head north approximately 10 miles on Hwy 84/285 towards Chama. Just before you get to the town of Chama you will see a large billboard with a train that says “Welcome to Chama” and the next gravel road on the left is CR 343. Turn left (west) and take that gravel road until you see the Trout Stalker entrance on your right (north).

    • From Pagosa Springs: Heading east toward Chama, when you get to the crossroads in Chama turn right on 84/25 and head south. Just outside of the town of Chama you will see a large billboard on your right that says “thank you for visiting Chama” and the gravel road before that on the right is CR 343. Turn right (west) and take that gravel road until you see the Trout Stalker entrance on your right (north).

    • From Santa Fe: Drive north on Highway 84/285 toward Chama. Just before you get to the town of Chama you will see a large billboard with a train that says “Welcome to Chama” and the next gravel road on the left is CR 343. Turn left (west) and take that gravel road until you see the Trout Stalker entrance on your right (north).​

  • What's the weather like?

    • The weather in the mountains can go through all seasons in a single summer day! Be prepared and pack for a variety of conditions.

  • What else is there to do in Chama?​

    • There is so much to do at Trout Stalker but if you find yourself wanting to do something in town, the train is a popular attraction in the town of Chama. There are several train ride options that can be viewed at https://cumbrestoltec.com/. Pagosa Springs is an hour drive from Trout Stalker and they are known for their hot springs.

  • Do you have rattlesnakes?​

    • To date we have not seen or are aware of any in the area.

  • What are the check in/check out times?

    • Check in is at 3:00 pm and check out​ is at 11:00 am. We will try and accommodate your schedule as best as possible.

  • Where is the closest airport?

    • The closest international airport is in Albuquerque ​and the closest regional airport is in Santa Fe.  Steven's Field in Pagosa Springs is a general aviation airport with a 8,100 ft runway that can accommodate private aircraft, from small prop planes to large jets.  It has a full service FBO and is less than an hour from Trout Stalker ranch.
